TERMS OF SUBMISSION
Terms of Submission

These Terms apply to browsing, inquiries and submissions made through the DRAMIA original story and screenplay submission site (the “Site”). Please review them before submitting. By checking the agreement box and submitting the form, you agree to these Terms.
1. Scope and Operator
SAKURA UNITED PLATFORM PTE. LTD. (“we,” “us” or the “Company”) operates the Site as a submission channel for original works and screenplays. It does not cover membership in future DRAMIA services, AI generation, publication, sales, payments or revenue sharing. The Site is primarily intended for people in Japan. We do not actively offer it to residents outside Japan. If you submit from another country, you are responsible for complying with local law. We do not warrant that the Site or these Terms comply with laws outside Japan.
2. Submission Terms and Contracts
Eligibility, deadlines, review methods, compensation and other details are being finalized. A submission does not guarantee selection, a response, an interview, adaptation, payment or a contract. We may change, suspend or close the call; if this affects existing submissions, we will notify applicants at their registered email address. We will publish our basic approach to compensation once determined. Any unpaid participation will be disclosed in advance. After selection, work scope, compensation, costs and taxes, copyright and adaptation rights, permitted uses and confidentiality will be explained and agreed in a separate written or electronic contract. These Terms do not determine rights arrangements after selection.
3. Eligibility and Applicant Confirmations
Applicants must be at least 18 and have reached the age of majority under all applicable laws, including their national law. We do not accept submissions from minors. If we learn that an applicant is a minor, we may stop the review and delete the information collected. Provide accurate, current contact details. You must own the relevant rights or have authority to submit the work for review. Confirm that the submission does not conflict with co-authorship, existing agreements or other competitions.
4. Submission Materials and Confidential Information
Submit a synopsis and, where needed, an accessible work URL. Do not send another person’s trade secrets, personal information disclosed without permission, identity documents, financial or health information, or other unnecessary sensitive information. Contact us before sending full unpublished works or important setting materials that require an NDA. Merely agreeing to these Terms or submitting does not create an individual NDA. Materials are handled as described below and in the Privacy Policy.
5. Rights and Use for Review
Copyright and other rights remain with the applicant or lawful rights holder and do not transfer to us by submission. You grant us a free, non-exclusive licence to view, reproduce, store and share materials internally only as needed to acknowledge, review and administer the submission, communicate with you and prepare for interviews. Without separate prior consent, we will not adapt, publish, advertise, use for AI training, sell or provide the work to a third party, except for legally required disclosure or processing by contractors needed for review. Contractors may not use the materials for other purposes. Independently of submissions, we may consider or produce projects with similar themes, settings or developments. These Terms do not restrict projects developed without relying on your work. We keep records of review and project development to clarify this point. Materials for works not selected will be deleted within 12 months after the later of review completion or our last communication, except where restricted storage is necessary to confirm rights or handle a dispute.
6. Prohibited Conduct
You may not violate law or third-party rights, submit false information, impersonate another person, disclose confidential information without authority, gain unauthorized access, transmit malware, overload or disrupt the Site, or improperly collect Site data. We may exclude a submission, delete information or refuse future submissions when a violation occurs.
7. Site Intellectual Property and External Services
Rights in the Site logo, design and text belong to us or their lawful owners. Unauthorized use beyond what law permits is prohibited. Third-party terms apply to linked or sharing services. Applicants must confirm sharing permissions and visibility settings.
8. Changes and Liability
We may change or suspend the Site for maintenance, security, legal compliance or other operational needs. We do not guarantee that Site information is complete or that a submission will produce any particular result. If our ordinary negligence causes loss, liability is limited to direct and ordinary damages actually incurred. This limitation does not apply to wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
9. Personal Information
Submission and personal information are handled under Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information, other applicable laws and the Site Privacy Policy. Consent to submit is not treated as consent to promotional email or AI training.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may change these Terms when the change benefits applicants generally, or when it is reasonable in light of the purpose of these Terms, the need for the change and the appropriateness of the revised content. For other changes, we will present the change and obtain consent in advance. Revised terms and their effective date will be announced on the Site. Changes materially affecting applicants will be announced at least two weeks before they take effect. A terms update alone will not expand permitted use of previously submitted works.
11. Governing Law and Disputes
Japanese law governs these Terms. We will first attempt to resolve disputes in good faith. If unresolved, the Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction at first instance, except that a consumer applicant may also sue in the court having jurisdiction over their residence, and we will sue such applicant in that court.
12. Exclusion of Organized Crime
You represent and warrant that you are not an organized crime group, member, affiliated company or equivalent antisocial force and have no socially condemnable relationship with one. If this is false, we may stop review and invalidate the submission without notice.
13. Other Provisions
You may not transfer your position, rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior consent. We may transfer them to a successor as part of a business succession. Notices are sent to the registered email address and are deemed received when they would ordinarily arrive. Notify us promptly of any change. If any provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remainder continues in effect. The Japanese version is authoritative. If a translation differs, the Japanese version prevails.
